History of Tai Seng MRT station

The station opened on 17 April 2010 as part of the Circle Line stretch running to Dhoby Ghaut, and an open house for the public was held on 5 April that year. During planning it carried the name Upper Paya Lebar, and it only became Tai Seng in July 2005. Work on the station was held up after the Nicoll Highway collapse in April 2004, which pushed back the opening of this section of the line. A later addition is an underground walkway to the 18 Tai Seng development, which gives passengers a covered route with its own escalator and lift.

Inside Tai Seng MRT station

Most of the exits are wheelchair accessible, and wider fare gates make it easier for wheelchair users to enter. Tactile paving with raised studs guides visually impaired passengers along dedicated routes from the entrances to the platforms, and there are bicycle facilities for those who cycle to the station. On the platform you will find Equilibrium by Francis Ng, an Art-in-Transit work made of two parallel panels of red, yellow and blue triangles that are designed to reflect each other.
