Farmway LRT Station
Farmway LRT station is a stop on the West Loop of the Sengkang LRT, the driverless light rail network that serves the Sengkang estate in Singapore. It carries the code SW2 and, like every station on this line, sits on an elevated viaduct above street level, so passengers reach the platforms from the ground below. The West Loop links the station to Sengkang station, the interchange where riders can change for the North East Line of the MRT network.

The station mainly serves people living in the surrounding housing estates of the Anchorvale area, who use it for short trips around the West Loop or as the first leg of a longer journey via Sengkang. Students, families heading to nearby community facilities and visitors to the local food centres also use it throughout the day. Because the stop sits so close to homes, hawker stalls and community clubs, many passengers make only short rides from here rather than long cross-island journeys.
History of Farmway LRT station
Farmway LRT station opened on 15 November 2007, nearly three years after the rest of the West Loop began carrying passengers on 29 January 2005. It was opened to serve the Anchorvale Community Club and the housing developments growing up around it. In its early years, West Loop trains ran in only one direction at a time, and full-day services in both directions did not begin until 1 January 2013.
Inside Farmway LRT station
Trains calling here are driverless and fully automated, so there is no driver’s cab and passengers can stand at the very front of the car. The line has been able to run two-car trains since December 2015, and a new fleet of two-car vehicles has been entering service since 15 July 2025, gradually replacing older trains.
For residents and visitors, the station is a handy stop for everyday errands and meals. Food Paradise is about a minute’s walk away and Anchorvale Hawker Centre about two minutes, making Farmway LRT station a practical choice for a quick, inexpensive meal. Families heading to Sengkang Riverside Park can walk there in roughly six minutes, while patients and visitors bound for Sengkang General & Community Hospital face a walk of around seven minutes. Two community clubs are also within a few minutes on foot, and shoppers can reach Compass One in about a quarter of an hour, though many prefer to ride the LRT towards Sengkang instead.
