Bangkit LRT Station
Bangkit LRT station is a stop on the Bukit Panjang LRT in the Bukit Panjang area of north-west Singapore, and it carries the station code BP9. The Bukit Panjang LRT is an automated people mover that runs for about 8 km through the neighbourhoods of Bukit Panjang and Choa Chu Kang, linking the estate with Choa Chu Kang MRT/LRT station. Like every other stop on the line, the station is elevated, so passengers board from a platform raised above street level rather than from an underground concourse.

Most people who use the station live in the surrounding housing estate. They ride the LRT for short trips within Bukit Panjang or to reach the wider rail network at Choa Chu Kang. The line is operated by SMRT Trains and is currently the only LRT line that SMRT runs. Trains are driverless and travel in two-car formations, which suits the short hops between neighbourhood stops.
History of Bangkit LRT station
The Bukit Panjang LRT began carrying passengers on 6 November 1999, becoming the first LRT line to open in Singapore. Before it was built, a public exhibition in 1996 invited residents to vote on the colours of the trains and the shape of the station roofs. After years of reliability problems, the system entered a major renewal programme in 2019. This covers new signalling, power rails and trains, with completion planned for 2026.

Bangkit LRT station has platform barriers, which were fitted at every station on the line by 2017 to improve safety for waiting passengers. Services use C801A and C801B trains, and the new communications-based signalling being introduced is designed to allow trains to run closer together, which should mean shorter waits on the platform.
