South View LRT Station
South View LRT station (code BP2) is a stop on the Bukit Panjang LRT in north-west Singapore. It lies on the Choa Chu Kang side of the line, within walking distance of the Keat Hong markets and the shops and library around Lot One Shoppers’ Mall. Like every stop on this line, the station is elevated, so passengers reach the platforms by going up from street level rather than down.

The Bukit Panjang LRT is an 8 km automated people mover with 13 stations serving the housing estates of Bukit Panjang and Choa Chu Kang. It is run by SMRT Trains, and its small driverless trains run in two-car formations. Most people using South View LRT station are residents of the surrounding estates. They use it for short trips to the shops, markets and food centres nearby, or to connect with the wider rail network at Choa Chu Kang.
History of South View LRT station
The station is part of Singapore’s first LRT line, which opened on 6 November 1999. Before the line was built, the public could vote at a 1996 exhibition on the colours of the trains and the shape of the station roofs. The line is now partway through a major renewal, with new signalling, power rails and trains, due to be completed in 2026. The new signalling system should allow trains to run closer together and shorten waiting times.

Platform barriers were fitted at all Bukit Panjang LRT stations by 2017, so passengers waiting here are separated from the guideway. Trains are short, so expect a compact platform.
For daily errands, South View LRT station is a practical stop.
