Sam Kee LRT Station
Sam Kee LRT station is an elevated stop in Punggol, in the north-east of Singapore, served by the West Loop of the Punggol LRT under the code PW1. The Punggol LRT is a driverless light rail line that runs on a raised guideway through the town’s housing estates. Punggol station is the hub for both the East and West Loops and the place to change for the North East Line.

The station stands right beside Punggol Waterway Park, only about 30 metres away. Most of its passengers are people living in the surrounding estates and visitors heading to the park, the library or the community facilities at One Punggol. For journeys beyond Punggol, passengers ride the loop to Punggol station and transfer to the North East Line there.
History of Sam Kee LRT station
Sam Kee LRT station opened on 29 February 2016, a leap day, almost two years after the West Loop first began carrying passengers in June 2014. It was opened mainly to serve Punggol Waterway Park and the SAFRA Punggol Clubhouse. In its early years, West Loop trains ran in one direction only, changing with the time of day. Services in both directions began on 29 September 2018 as more people started using the line.

Trains at the station are fully automated, with no driver on board, and run as two-car sets to cope with demand. A new fleet of two-car trains entered service across the Punggol LRT in 2025, replacing many of the older single-car vehicles.
Sam Kee LRT station is the most convenient rail stop for a day at the waterfront. Punggol Waterway Park is about a minute’s walk away, making it a practical choice for walks, jogs and cycling along the water. Punggol Regional Library and One Punggol Community Club are both around two minutes away on foot, and families with young children can reach Splash @ Kidz Amaze in about three minutes. For a meal, One Punggol Hawker Centre is roughly a three-minute walk, while Waterway Point shopping mall is about eight minutes away for shops, groceries and more places to eat.
