History of Kadaloor LRT station
Kadaloor LRT station opened on 29 January 2005, when the first stations on the East Loop began carrying passengers. In those early years the loop ran in only one direction at a time: trains ran anti-clockwise from Kadaloor to Punggol in the morning and clockwise from Punggol back to Kadaloor in the evening, so the station marked the start or end of the trip. Trains began running in both directions on the East Loop on 20 June 2011, and two-car trains entered service on this loop from 29 December 2016 to cope with rising ridership.

The station is served by automated Crystal Mover trains with no driver on board, and many services now run as two-car trains. A new fleet of two-car trains entered service on the Punggol LRT in 2025, so you may find yourself on one of the newer vehicles when travelling from here.
For a quick meal, Kopitiam is about 70 m from the station, roughly a one-minute walk, and Leong Eating House and FoodCity are both reachable in around five to six minutes on foot. If you want some open space, Common Green is about three minutes away, while My Waterway@Punggol is around a six-minute walk and suits an easy stroll along the water. Residents doing their weekly shopping can walk about 11 minutes to Punggol Plaza or Punggol New Market, and Punggol 21 Community Club is a little further at around 12 minutes. This makes the station a practical starting point for everyday errands, meals and a walk by the waterway.
