Cove LRT Station
Cove LRT station is a stop in Punggol, in the north-east of Singapore, and carries the code PE1 on the Punggol LRT (East Loop). Like every stop on this driverless light rail line, it is elevated, so passengers board trains on a raised platform above street level. The station sits in a largely residential part of Punggol and mainly serves people living in the surrounding housing estates.

Most riders use the station for short hops around the East Loop or to reach Punggol station, where the two loops of the Punggol LRT meet and where passengers can change to the North East Line for journeys into the city and elsewhere on the MRT network. The Punggol LRT is the third light rail line built in Singapore and is operated by SBS Transit, which also runs the North East Line.
History of Cove LRT station
Cove was among the first stations on the Punggol LRT, opening with most of the East Loop on 29 January 2005 at a ceremony officiated by transport minister Yeo Cheow Tong. In those early years trains on the loop ran in one direction only, following the main flow of commuters: anti-clockwise towards Punggol in the morning and clockwise away from it later in the day. Trains in both directions arrived in June 2011, when Damai station opened and completed the East Loop. The whole light rail system grew out of the Punggol 21 housing plan announced in 1996, which paired new homes with a local transit network from the start.
Inside Cove LRT station
Trains at Cove LRT station are fully automated Crystal Mover vehicles with no driver on board. Two-car trains were introduced on the East Loop in December 2016 to cope with growing ridership, and a new fleet of two-car trains entered service in 2025, so passengers are more likely to find a longer train and more room at busy times. Renewal works carried out on the line between 2018 and 2022 were aimed at making services more reliable.
For residents and visitors, the station is a practical base for everyday errands in this part of Punggol. Common Green, a park about 170 m away, is roughly a three-minute walk and is the closest green space for a stroll or a break.
For meals, FoodCity is about 460 m from the station, around seven minutes on foot, with other food centres such as Happy Hawkers and Kopitiam Corner a little further out. Punggol Bus Interchange, about 610 m away, can be reached in around ten minutes on foot. Shoppers can head to Waterway Point, about 870 m from Cove LRT station, or to Rivervale Mall and Punggol Plaza, all within a walk of under twenty minutes.
