From Great World, the Thomson-East Coast Line runs directly north to Orchard (TE14), where passengers can transfer to the North-South Line for access to the city centre, Woodlands, and points further north. Travelling south from Great World brings you to Havelock (TE16), continuing along the line towards the Marina Bay area and, eventually, the eastern parts of Singapore. Without any interchange at Great World itself, journeys requiring a different line will need to be made at one of these neighbouring stations.
