Mount Pleasant MRT Station
Mount Pleasant MRT station is an underground station on the Thomson-East Coast Line, built in the Novena district on land that once formed part of the Old Police Academy grounds. Its station code is TE10, and it is operated by SMRT Trains. The station is not open yet. Trains on the line already run through it, but they do not stop here.

The station was built ahead of a new housing estate planned for the Mount Pleasant area. Once that estate takes shape, the station will give its future residents a direct rail link to the rest of the network. It will open to passengers when the surrounding district has been developed. Until then, travellers heading to this part of Novena will need to start or end their journey at another station.
History of Mount Pleasant MRT station
The station was first announced on 29 August 2012 as one of the stops on the planned Thomson Line, which was later combined with the Eastern Region Line to create the Thomson-East Coast Line. A groundbreaking ceremony on 24 January 2015 marked the formal start of work, and some of the old academy buildings were demolished to make room for the project. Although the structure was finished, the Land Transport Authority announced on 23 November 2021 that the opening would wait for the new Mount Pleasant housing estate. Since this section of the line began running on 13 November 2022, trains have passed through without stopping.

Mount Pleasant MRT station is a designated Civil Defence Shelter, so its underground structure is designed to protect the public during an emergency. For now the station is mothballed, and it will remain closed to passengers until it opens alongside the new district.
