When does it open? Bedok South (TE30) is part of Thomson-East Coast Line Stage 5. On 6 December 2024 the LTA said Stage 5 would open in the second half of 2026, together with the Downtown Line extension to Xilin and Sungei Bedok. As of October 2026 the exact opening day had not been announced, so the station is still closed to passengers.

Bedok South MRT station is a future stop on the Thomson-East Coast Line, being built at the junction of Upper East Coast Road and Bedok South Road in the Bedok planning area of eastern Singapore. It carries the station code TE30. The station has not opened yet, so trains do not call here at present, and anyone travelling to this corner of Bedok today will need to plan their journey using other transport.
The station is being constructed underground, so when it opens passengers will go down from street level to reach the platforms. Its site sits right beside Temasek Secondary School, which means the school will have a rail link on its doorstep once services begin. The station will also bring the Thomson-East Coast Line within reach of people living and travelling along Upper East Coast Road and Bedok South Road, two roads that currently have no MRT stop at this junction.
History of Bedok South MRT station
The Land Transport Authority first named Bedok South as one of the stations on the proposed Thomson-East Coast Line on 15 August 2014, and building work began in 2016. It belongs to Stage 5 of the line, a short section of two stations running between Bedok South and Sungei Bedok. That stage was first expected to be finished in 2024, but the COVID-19 pandemic pushed the target back to 2025. A further delay followed because of the difficulty of tunnelling close to existing critical infrastructure, and the opening of the station is now expected in 2026.
Once Bedok South MRT station opens, its most obvious use will be for daily trips to and from Temasek Secondary School, giving students, staff and visiting parents a train connection right next to the school gates. Residents in the streets around Bedok South Road will be able to walk to the station instead of travelling further to reach the rail network, which should make everyday journeys to work, shops and appointments more direct.
People moving along Upper East Coast Road will also gain a convenient place to join or leave the Thomson-East Coast Line at this junction.
