Malay, known locally as Bahasa Melayu, is one of Singapore’s four official languages alongside English, Mandarin and Tamil. It also holds a special place as Singapore’s national language. This map presents the MRT and LRT network with station names and line labels in Bahasa Melayu.
If you prefer another language, the MRT system map is also available in English and other languages.
Why an MRT map in Bahasa Melayu helps
Malay is Singapore’s national language and one of its four official languages, alongside English, Mandarin Chinese and Tamil. It is the language of the national anthem, Majulah Singapura, and you will see it on station signs and notices across the rail network. A Bahasa Melayu map is useful for Malay speakers from Singapore, Malaysia and Brunei, and it is easy for Indonesian visitors to follow too.
Many station names are Malay words already, such as Bukit Batok, Tanjong Pagar, Pasir Ris and Tanah Merah, so they read the same in every language. Bukit means hill, Tanjong means cape and Pasir means sand, a small clue to the history of each area. Station codes and line colours match the English MRT map, so you can switch between versions without any confusion. The PDF map, the Chinese version and the Tamil version are also available.

For the official version, see the LTA rail network map.
